Questions about TM350H GPS unit

  • How to verify Horizon navmate version
  • Use the following steps to check your application version before updating (make sure you have the correct software version on your device.)

    1. Power on system.
    2. Switch to navigation application
    3. click "Press to accept" to enter application
    4. Select: Menu->Setup->Page Down Icon->System (bottom of the list)->System Information
    5. Version number will display after "Application:".
  • How to update Horizon Navmate navigation software
    1. Exit Horizon Navmate Navigation software if it is running.
    2. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the gps
    3. Insert your Navigation SD card into SD Card Reader
    4. Download the latest version from here
    5. Extract downloaded file to a folder
    6. Copy all files from the folder to "navmate" folder on your SD card, and overwrite all files.
  • How to update Horizon Navmate navigation software to support Chinese
    1. Exit Horizon Navmate Navigation software if it is running.
    2. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the gps
    3. Insert your Navigation SD card into SD Card Reader
    4. Download the latest Chinese version from here
    5. Extract downloaded file to a folder
    6. Copy the "navmate" folder from the folder to your SD card, and overwrite all files.
    7. Insert the SD Card to your GPS, and turn it on
    8. Press Navigation to start Horizon Navmate Navigation software
    9. Press the language icon on the left bottom when the "Please Drive Safely" screen showes
    10. Press the down button until scrolled down to the end of the list
    11. Select a Language. If you only see some squares on the list, press any squares, and go to step 8.
  • How to add more voices
    1. Exit Horizon Navamte Navigation software if it is running.
    2. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the gps
    3. Insert the memory card into the card reader and connect the card reader with your computer.
    4. Copy voices from Support CD, Place the enclosed CD into your computer's CD drive. Find the "Voice Language" folder by browsing the CD content and open it. Select the desired language folder.
    5. Click "Edit" in the menu bar, and then "Copy".
    6. Double-click the "navmate" folder in the memory card.
    7. Double-click the "voices" folder. Click "Edit" in the menu bar, and then "Paste". The desired language folder is copied to the memory card.
    8. Eject the SD card and insert into your GPS
    9. Change the voice language on TM350H.
  • How to use Navmate navigation utility to backup settings or convert POIs
  • To use Navmate navigation utility, an SD card reader is required

    1. Exit Horizon Navamte Navigation software if it is running
    2. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the gps
    3. Insert the SD card into the card reader.
    4. Download POI utility from here , and extract "NavUtil.zip" to a folder
    5. Run NavUtil.exe
    6. Click "Browse..." to select the Navmate folder on SD card, for example, E is the Drive letter for SD card, then select E:\Navmate.
    7. Click Backup / Restore to Backup / Restore your settings
    8. Click "POI Uploader" to manage My POIs
      1. If you want to setup a new category for the POIs , click "Category" then "new" to add a category, after finished, return to main screen.
      2. Click "Add", select the correct POI data file type and select a poi data file to be added
      3. Select category to be added to, and click "OK"
      4. If there are more POI files to be converted, go to step 2
      5. After all POI files have been added, click one of the category names in the list to enable the "Upload" button
      6. Click "Upload" to convert all POIs and save to SD card.
        When the utility asks "Destination directory is not empty. Clear it?", you should click "No", otherwise, all your settings and My POIs will be deleted.
      7. Click "Exit" to Exit POI Uploader
    9. Eject the SD card and insert into your GPS

    Please keep in mind, the name for each POI location must less than 31 characters and must be unique.

    If you POI files are not supported by Navmate navigation utility, you may convert your POI files into supported format on this website, http://www.poieditor.com/ .

  • How to update new map for Australia
  • When the new map for Australia is ready, you may order map updates from us, the new map will on a SD card or a CD. Due to the size of map updates, we not recommend download it from Trakmate website.

    • If you order an SD card,
      1. Turn off you GPS by press Off/Reset button on the back.
      2. Eject the old SD card and insert the new one into your GPS.
        Everything stored in the old SD card, i.e. settings, photos, videos, will be lost unless they are copied to the new SD card.
    • If you order a Map CD, a card reader is required.
      1. Insert the SD card into card reader.
      2. Copy all files on Map CD to the SD card
  • Switch to input screen instead of list screen when enter a destination
  • When you set a destination by "Address or Intersection", you may goto to the input screen directly instead of the list screen.

    1. Exit Horizon Navamte Navigation software if it is running
    2. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the gps
    3. Insert the SD card into the card reader
    4. Find the "navmate" folder in the SD card and double-click it
    5. Open "app_config.cfg" with Notepad
    6. Change "LIST_FIRST=ON" to ";LIST_FIRST=OFF" (add a semicolon)
    7. Save the file
    8. Eject the SD card and insert to the GPS

    If you want to select from the list on input screen, please press the red cross icon on the bottom right.

  • How to restore system files to SD card
  • To restore system files, an SD card reader is required

    1. Press the Off/Reset button on the back of the GPS
    2. Eject the SD card and insert it into a card reader which connected to your computer
    3. Format the SD card. All settings, photos, videos, musics will be lost.
    4. Place the enclosed support CD into your computer’s CD drive
    5. Find the "Backup Data" folder in the CD and double-click it
    6. Select all folders and files (6 folders and 1 file) and copy them to the SD card. DO NOT copy the "Backup Data" folder to the SD card
    7. Select all copied folders and files, and right-click to select "Properties". Clear the "Read Only" box in the "Properties" window
    8. Eject the SD card and insert it into the GPS

  • I don't have a Card reader, how can I copy files to SD card
    • If you are using Microsoft Window XP, you may download Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 from Microsoft by click the following link,

    After installed MS ActiveSync 4.5, you may connect your gps to the computer by a mini usb cable, the GPS will be shown as "mobile device" in "My Computer", files on SD card will be under folder "Storage Card", and you are able to read/write files on SD card.

    Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier.

    • If you have Windows Vista, no driver or software need to be installed, after connect your gps to the computer by a mini usb cable, the gps will be shown as "WindowsCE" under Portable Devices in "My Computer".

    If you are upgrading the Horizon Navmate Navigation software, you need to exit Horizon Navmate Navigation software before copying files to SD card.

     

  • What size of SD/MMC card does TM350H support
  • TM350H supports up to 2GB SD/MMC card, it doesn't support SDHC card. You need to copy all files on the original SD card to your new SD card.

     

  • What's the GPS port configuration for model TM350H
  • GPS Port Configuration: Com Port: Com 6, Baud Rate: 4800bps
    Horizon navmate will detect the GPS port settings automatically.

     

  • The touch screen is not responding to my touches
  • Please press the Off/Reset button and turn on the power again, if it still doesn't work, system files on SD card may be corrupted, please read "How to restore system files to SD card".
